Story
On 17th September, I will be taking part in the Big Nacoa Drop…abseiling down the London Orbit (a 262ft drop) to raise money for Nacoa. After having their funding cut by the government, any donation will help them keep running & supporting children of alcoholics.
It’s been 18 years since my mum died after a long time of struggling with alcoholism. My brother also battled with alcohol & depression over the years and consequently took his own life earlier this year. You can be a child of an alcoholic at any age & it can affect you for the rest of your life. That’s why a charity like Nacoa needs as much support as possible to help those who need to talk when they have no one else to talk to.
Unfortunately alcoholism is not really spoken about (I’m guilty of this too). And yet, it’s something so many people struggle with these days & so many lives are sadly lost from it…that might well have been saved with help from charities like these.
So if anyone is kind enough to donate, whether big or small, then it’ll be hugely appreciated. I’m also terrified of heights so I’ll most likely have to be pushed off to make me do it!😂
Thank you!
