Story
I’m raising money in memory of my mum, Michelle.
On the 13th of October 2014, my mum passed away due to an undetected subarachnoid brain haemorrhage. My mum was one-of-a-kind and fought to provide the best life for her children.
As the years pass by, I find it more and more difficult to talk about my mum - the list of things she hasn't been able to guide me through or witness grows each year. As time ticks on, it’s nice to be encouraged to remember the memories that we did have, rather than the ones we didn’t get chance to make.
Over the last 9 years, I have raised money for The Brain Charity so that they can continue their work. Every year in October, I will go the extra mile to fundraise for them in memory of my mum. As I walk each day, I’ll share a memory of my mum that brings me joy
I hope my little walks can raise enough to support a person or family in need as they navigate life-changing conditions. Every penny counts. I appreciate anything you can spare - and if you'd like to chat about my mum (or join me on a walk!) I'd appreciate that too.
My goal? To surpass 10,000 steps a day for 30 days. It’s not a marathon, but it’s the best I can do with my dodgy joints! If you’d like to learn more about The Brain Charity, please keep reading.

30 for 30 challenge: raising £30,000 in 2023 to mark 30 years of The Brain Charity.
This year 2023 marks The Brain Charity's 30th birthday.
Our charity was founded 30 years ago, in 1993, by doctors at The Walton Centre, who realised that better community support was needed for people with neurological diagnoses.
To mark 30 years of helping people with all forms of neurological conditions, we've launched the 30 for 30 challenge.
Throughout 2023, were inviting The Brain Charity's supporters to create their own fundraising challenge involving the number 30.
