Story
I have chosen to raise money for CAMHS because mental health is something that can affect anybody at anytime. Mental health is on the rise in teenagers with the many pressures of growing up in the modern world and even more so since Covid. Now I'm 13 years old and now a teenager myself,
I wouldn’t like to suffer or see my friends suffer without help and support. CAMHS are under a lot of pressure as they are dealing with so many referrals and the waiting list can be long. I would like to think that my fundraising can go someway to help the service and make them feel supported too so that they continue to give much needed help the young people across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
It is really important to be aware of mental health as many people suffer in silence. I hope doing this will also raise awareness of how important it is to speak up if you are struggling so that you feel heard and can get help.
Last year I did 100 holes in a day and this year I would like to beat that by doing 126 holes in a day. 36 will be at Knott End, where I have been playing most Saturdays during Winter and the rest will be at Poulton Golf Club where I am Junior Captain.
