Story
Why did Alfie, who’s 6 years old, want to complete a fundraising challenge?
He heard about the incredible staff at Nightingale House Hospice completing their own sponsored skydive to raise money for the incredible organisation they work for. Knowing he is too young to complete the skydive he wanted to sponsor them and told his mummy that ‘it’s so important that that place can keep on looking after people who are so so poorly’.
Clever Alfie decided that the best way to generate more support for the skydivers was to complete his own challenge and seek sponsorship to contribute to the fundraising efforts of those daring enough to launch themselves out of an aeroplane! So, an 11km walk it is!
Weather permitting he will complete the walk on July 21st!
Alfie’s walk will take him to the top of Moel Famau which although not classed as a mountain is the the highest point in the Clwydian Range. Alfie’s walk will gain elevation of over 200 metres and..it kind of goes without saying that he must also walk down meaning the walk will total approximately 11km.
He will be ever so grateful of any sponsorship but is as equally excited as ‘it’s going to be a great adventure mummy and I love those!’.
For over 25 years staff at Nightingale House Hospice have created an environment that gives patients and their loved ones quality time to spend together. Not having to worry about the care a loved one receives, knowing they are in safe hands means every second spent together is dignified and peaceful. Without support such as yours, our specialist palliative care units wouldn’t be able to deliver such high standards.
