Story

As part of Brancepeth Castle centenary year, Bar Manager Jack Beesley and club member James Luke raising money for the Captains charity which this year is St Cuthbert's Hospice. The challenge needed to be golf related... so we are taking part in the longest day golf challenge!

Brancepeth Castle have five tees - Black, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Emerald. In total this will be playing 90 holes of golf in one day and walking over 25 miles (if we can hit it straight) and carrying our golf bags!

Tee off at first light approx 4.30am and finishing around sunset, this challenge will be the ultimate test of endurance and fitness!

The club will be putting on Live Music and American Street Food in evening awaiting Jack/James to finish the challenge! Everyone is welcome come along to support and enjoy the atmosphere!

I'm sure there isn't anyone who hasn't been effected by a life-limiting illness such as cancer, which is why St Cuthbert's is a shining light and pillar of support for so many people in Durham.

St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and the bereaved. We make no charge for our services, ensuring Hospice care is available to everyone. It costs over £2 million each year to keep St Cuthbert's Hospice running.

Additional sponsorship is available forms at the bar for:

- Total score

- How many birdies?

- Will there be a hole in one?

Any additional challenge/sponsorship someone would like to lay down such as 18th Bridge out of play, one club challenge on a hole etc.
