Story
Who are we?
We are a team of 30 from the James Paget University Hospital Accident and Emergency department (16 of us pictured above), consisting of adult and paediatric nurses, doctors, advanced care practitioners, healthcare assistants, porters, paramedics and more - all working within the JPUH Emergency Department (ED).
Everyday in the ED we provide 24 hour emergency care to the residents and visitors of Norfolk and Suffolk, but we couldn't do this nearly as effectively without our vital and very impressive pre-hospital service, the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Who are we raising money for?
East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a 365-day-a-year helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk. They exist to save lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics by air to seriously ill or injured people in the region. They do not receive regular direct government funding and instead rely hugely from charitable donations. We want to help them stay airborne by raising as much money as we can!
What are we doing?
We are taking on an event organised by EAAA - a 6 mile muddy, wet obstacle course called Only The Brave. We've split ourselves into two teams of 15:
The JPUH A&Ethletes and
The JPUH A&Erobic Amblers
Both teams are a mixture of abilities, ages and roles and we're looking to test our famous A&E teamwork by tackling this together!
