Story

I am so delighted to be running my second London Marathon in a row, and this time for another incredible charity. Team Rainbows are running together in the most iconic marathon in the world and I am honoured to be a part of the small team of just 5.

Living in Leicester, I understand the invaluable work that Rainbows do and have witnessed first hand the positive impact that they make on children and families.

Sadly, some children just don't live long enough, and one of whom was my girlfriend’s little sister, Eve Lyons, who unfortunately passed away from Ewings Sarcoma, aged 11. I have seen the huge impact that losing a child has on loved ones, and charities like Rainbows help to make things easier in the most difficult times.

This year I will be running for all of the young lives that have been lost, and specifically in memory of Eve Lyons. We must all ‘Keep smiling’ 😊 and be the positive change that we want to see in the world.

As the East Midlands only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Their incredible team of people help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.

Please visit www.rainbows.co.uk to see what we do and hear from some of the families that we support.

Rainbows is a place where children can laugh, play and make every precious moment count, while families already bereaved are supported through the toughest times. Because of you and other supporters like you, a family will be able to make special memories they will cherish forever and bring a smile to their childs face as they laugh and play.

Please help the team brighten short lives - thank you!
