Conquer the Heights: Join Jack and Georgia's Epic Abseil Adventure to raise money for Mill View Hospital, a psychiatric hospital in Hove.
Welcome to our fundraising page! We are Jack, Caburn Ward Manager, and Georgia, Matron at Millview Hospital in Hove, and we're taking on a thrilling challenge that will test our courage and support a great cause. We are excited to announce that we will be bravely abseiling down the iconic Brighton i360, and we need your help to make it a success. We are both truly terrified of heights, and just the thought of this challenge turns our legs to jelly!
Last year, Jack raised money for our sensory room on Caburn ward, which is now finished and is well used. Our next project is to support our OT team in creating an OT garden for all the hospital wards to use. The plan is to have an allotment with a seating area to use for inter-ward activity. The hospital does not have much shared space for patients to spend time together, but we have a lot of unused green spaces. We hope that, through this abseil, we can raise enough money to further develop our green spaces to allow for more interaction between patients whilst focusing on their recovery.
We have the absolute privilege of working and caring for some truly inspiring and brave people, many of whom have experienced significant trauma and challenging events throughout their lives. They continue to show immense courage each day, through difficult times, to aid their own recovery. By taking on this challenge, we hope to create a better environment for them during their hardest time.
