Fundraising for Whittington Health Charity
A common phrase we hear in our local community is “I was born at Whittington hospital, or my child was born at Whittington hospital”.
Whittington hospital has a community feel and serves its local people from the moment they are born right up to end of life. The care is exceptional, but the facilities are lacking, and this is especially true for the Children’s Ward.
I’m running the Rome marathon on the 16th of March 2025 to raise vital funds for Whittington Health Charity so they can transform the Children’s Ward for the young people of our local community.
Using charitable donations, Whittington Health Charity is aiming to make the following improvements:
1. Making the ward more child-friendly by adding floor to ceiling artwork.
2. Purchasing VR headsets to distract children undergoing medical procedures, reducing children’s anxiety and pain.
3. Creating a new dedicated bay, specifically for adolescent patients, which will include a comfortable breakout space where teenagers can chat, relax, play games, and watch television, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and depression.
4. Improving facilities for the increasing number of mental health patients by creating a calming, safe and private mental health assessment room.
5. Providing every room with a high-quality bed for visitors to stay overnight, as well as comfort items to facilitate rest and access to nutritious food.
Please support me by giving a donation, no matter how big or small, every penny will help us to transform the ward for your children.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
