Story
Last New Years Eve, Paul and I had plans to celebrate the evening with friends, how wrong we were!!!! Paul began to have sudden pain in his stomach which was caused by a blood clot that stopped the blood supply to his bowel.
Paul had two emergency operations leaving him with only 6% of his small intestine and a small section of his large bowel, which lead Paul to be long life TPN dependent (of 13/17hrs daily on IV Fluid feeds). Paul has daily restrictions and challenges, however unable to go swimming on holiday was the hardest pill for him to swallow. 💙
I started researching TPN, looking for opportunities for Paul to go swimming with TPN. This is where I came across Face Everything and Rise - FEAR charity. FEAR charity help individuals who need artificial nutrition, offering a range of support, sharing experience and knowledge of life on TPN. FEAR have absolutely supported us and been on our journey with us 💙
FEAR hold monthly swimming events and make it possible for individuals to get back in water. We are fundraising to buy a gift this Christmas of a dry suit to give to a child to make it possible for them to go swimming and have fun family time!! You can’t imagine the joy this brings to a child 💙
