Story

When newborn babies need specialist, often lifesaving, medical care at birth it can be a traumatic and difficult time for parents and families.

I am running for this special charity because it helped us during our toughest times when our twins; Sai and Kavi, who came unexpectedly early at 30 weeks. This was quite a traumatic and vulnerable time for us but the charity supported us all the way to being discharged. Our twins were given the best holistic and highest standard of care in NICU at the John Radcliffe Hospital, which we feel wouldn’t have been possible without which we would have been lost navigating our way through this vulnerable time. The staff were really kind and helpful and even with our 5 year old daughter by our side. Not only did they provide emotional and practical support but they also helped out with the providing food/snacks at a time when we weren’t able to fully look after our selves especially when my wife was breastfeeding. Something simple like this went quite a long way for us. By running for this charity and fundraising, we hope to raise the funds that can provide research, training for staff and medical equipment that can continue to enhance the quality of life for both newborn and premature babies.

We absolutely can’t commend them enough and by fundraising for such an incredible charity, we hope to make a difference like they did for us!

Thank you,

Anil, Jagruti, Naitri, Sai and Kavi
