Story

Firstly, if you are here, 'thank you' for taking the time to see what this charity challenge is all about.

In 2020, we lost our Stevie to pancreatic cancer. It would be an understatement to say that this was a shock that we are all still reeling from and a loss that we are daily still trying to heal from. One of the 'comforts' during those terrible few weeks [from diagnosis to Stevie passing] was St Luke's. They were amazing in so many ways. As a family, we will be forever grateful. Another understatement.

As many of you will know, our Stevie would have been 50 years old this year, on November 1st, 2024. So, we thought it would be nice [and fitting] to try and do something that would not only mark the occasion, but also support St Luke's along the way. Hence ... 'The Big 50'! - a charity challenge where we try to raise as much money as we can in both honour of our Stevie and also for an amazing cause.

You can help in several ways: 1) get involved ... join in the challenge and raise as much as you can 2) donate any small amount that you are able 3) cheer us all on as we embark on our individual challenges. And ... if you can link the number 50 to your challenge ... that would be awesome :-)

My own personal challenge has been to run 1050 miles over 50 fortnights ... I also have to do 50 timed runs [official races or park runs] and 1/5 of them medal runs. My partner Phil, for example, is rowing 50 5ks [rowing or erg] over the 50 days leading up to our Stevie's birthday.

If you'd like to join the 'team', then click on the link above 'join the team' and you can set up your own Just Giving page. You will be able to see your own monies raised week by week, day by day ... and this will then filter in to the overall team challenge page where we, collectively, will aim to raise as much as we can.

If you can help this challenge in any way, we will be so so grateful. And, on November 1st, when this charity challenge, The Big 50, ends ... let's all raise a glass to Stevie and be proud of ourselves ... as all monies raised will help others at St Luke's as much as St Luke's helped our Stevie and us.

A huge thank you in advance.

With love

Jane
