Story
Mae Iwan a Wyn Trefor Jones (dau frawd o Borthmadog) yn ymuno efo Tîm “Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7am” eleni er mwyn codi arian i gefnogi ymchwil i geisio atal cyflwr MND. Maent yn rhan o Dîm fydd yn seiclo o Gaeredin i Rhufain (dros 3,000km) mewn her sy’n cael ei alw yn “Pob Ffordd yn Arwain at Rhufain 2024.” Bydd y bel ar gyfer y gem rygbi rhwng yr Eidal a’r Alban yn cael ei chario gan y Tîm.
Mae’r Tîm yn cynnwys cyn-chwaraewyr rygbi o’r Llewod, gyda chynrychiolaeth o’r Alban, Cymru a Lloegr, a bydd nifer yn ymuno gyda’r tîm wrth ymweld efo’r 6 gwlad sy’n rhan o’r bencampwriaeth rygbi.
Mae’r Tywysog Albert am groesawu’r Tîm wrth ymweld efo Monaco.
Mae aelodau’r Tîm yn cynrychioli cymuned MND. Ers ei sefydlu yn 2017, mae “My Name’5 Doddie Foundation” wedi codi dros £11miliwn i gefnogi ymchwil i MND. Drwy’r daith yma, rydym yn gobeithio y byddwn yn codi ymwybyddiaeth am MND ac hefyd yn codi arian i gefnogi’r gwaith pwysig sy’n digwydd i atal cyflwr MND.
Diolch am eich cefnogaeth.
Iwan and Wyn Trefor Jones – two brothers from Porthmadog – will be joining the Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7am Team this year to raise money to fund much needed research to discover a cure for MND. They will be part of a Team that will cycle from Edinburgh to Rome (over 3,000km) in a fundraising challenge called “All Roads Lead to Rome 2024.” The match ball for the game between Italy and Scotland will be carried by the Team.
The Team includes ex-British Lions players, with representatives from Scotland, Wales and England, and many others will join the Team along route which will visit each of the Six Nations that are part of the Rugby Tournament.
The Team will visit each of the National Rugby Stadiums, kicking off at Murrayfield on the 28th of February, stopping at Dublin, Cardiff, Twickenham, and Paris before finishing in Rome on the 8th of March. Prince Albert will welcome the Team as they arrive in Monaco.
Our Team members are representing the entire MND community. Since its inception in 2017, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has committed over £11 million into supporting MND research. By taking part in this challenge, we hope to increase awareness about MND and raise much needed funds to find a cure for MND.
Thank you for your support.

Following on from the successes of The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation DoddieCup 555 in 2023, Rob Wainwright has set his biggest fundraising challenge yet with All Roads Lead to Rome 2024, all in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
The Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7am Team has been brought together using experienced Doddie Cup riders along with new riders. Roger Baird (ex Scotland Rugby and British Lions) along with co-captains Ian Barr (ex SRU President) and Rob Boyns D555 elite squad & Doddie Aid Wales team captain) head up the team. The 24 strong team is mainly from Scotland, Wales and England, and for good measure, a South African too!! We will feature many guest riders along the route.
The All Roads Lead to Rome challenge allows teams to be creative on how they will get to Rome. The Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7ammers will visit all 6 Nation Stadiums, kicking off at Murrayfield on 28th February, visiting Dublin, Cardiff, Twickenham, Paris before the final whistle on 8 March in Rome.
Our Team members are representing not only those players affected by MND in the Rugby community, but those players across all sports, along with our friends and families affected by this ravaging disease. The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has made huge progress in recent years in the research and a cure for MND; always relying heavily on the fundraising efforts from all of us.
