Story
Homelessness in Newcastle, like many areas of the UK, remains a huge, massively concerning issue. A walk through Newcastle any day of the week shows the bleak and highly distressing situation of so many people who, for whatever reason, have found themselves without a place to call home.
We are acutely aware, through personal experience and the amazing work completed by our client The People's Kitchen, of the enormity of the issues facing the homeless population of Newcastle, it's horrific, unacceptable and something that needs to be continually addressed. Homelessness simply shouldn't be an option.
Team ITC Service are trying to make a small contribution in the help to support homelessness and related services by raising money for the CEO sleepout on 21st March 2024.
We aren't naïve enough to think that one night sleeping outside is in any way comparable to the perils faced by so many living on the streets of our city, but if we can raise awareness and some money to make a difference, any difference- then it's a start at least.
We're late entries to this event so we're against the clock to gather support, any donations would be hugely appreciated!
Our team this year are:
Kate Anderson:
"I love my city, its architecture, the people, the football club. I visit frequently and every single visit I'm horrified, saddened and sickened by the situation i see people in, living on the streets. I do the usual things, buy a meal, a drink, have a chat... but that doesnt fix the bigger issues. This is a small gesture to try and help in the bigger picture"
Chloe Henderson:
"I really want to play my small part in hopefully making a big difference to homelessness in Newcastle. It's a beautiful city and such a shame that many still face living on the streets. We should all do our bit when we can to support such a fantastic cause and educate ourselves more on these issues"
Jamie Blanchflower:
"I'm excited to do my part in supporting an essential charity and helping fight homelessness in the North East. It's going to be a challenge, but a challenge that many face every single night"
Thank you for taking the time to read why we are taking part. Let's do this!
