Story

Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be running in a half marathon to raise funds for Sew Positive. Running this race is not just about crossing the finish line for me; it’s about supporting a cause that I care deeply about and bringing people together for something positive.

As someone who has experienced firsthand how meaningful activities like sewing can fight loneliness, I know the power of community and support. In my role as a sewing lecturer in a local college, I’ve seen how small actions can help people connect and find joy- and that’s why I’m taking on this challenge!

This is my first half marathon, and I’m fully committed to raising as much as possible for Sew Positive. With your help, I know I can make a big difference. Every donation, big or small, brings me closer to reaching my fundraising goal and supporting an amazing cause.

Thanks for your support, encouragement, and generosity!

About Sew Positive: We provide free workshops for participants including drop-in groups to give skills, aspiration, support and fun while sewcialising, and stitching our communities together. Sew Positive helps vulnerable people mend, repair, upcycle and repurpose clothes to calm the mind, improve mental health and well-being, and help our planet. We build communities of like-minded people facing social exclusion. Our activities contribute towards a more sustainable circular economy.
