Jonny Teeling, Matt Klemperer, Jonny Webber and Tom Illingworth are taking part in two Ironman events this summer to raise funds for children living in rural Tanzania.

With our extremely limited triathlon experience (practically zero) the 4 of us start with the Half Ironman (70.3 miles) in Switzerland on June 11th. A mixture of 1.2 miles of open water swimming, a mountainous ride covering 56 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation, topped off with a half marathon.

10 weeks later on August 20th, Jonny W, Jonny T and Matt will go again for the full distance Ironman (140.6 miles!) in Copenhagen on Aug 20th.

Ironman is a three discipline endurance event which includes:

- 2.4 mile Swim

- 112 mile Bike

- 26.2 mile marathon to finish

All completed one after the other, taking over 12 hours, in pain, all day. Perfect.

So why are we doing this?

Right now, the future of so many children in a community called Muungano in Tanzania will likely end up in child labour, child marriage, child pregnancy and low life expectancy. Education is a way out of this and a chance to have a brighter future. With your support we can change this narrative for children in Muungano where almost 100% of the children there are living in extreme poverty. We are aiming to build classrooms for Muungano primary school to give them a place to learn and thrive.

100% of any donation you've given will be going towards transforming Muungano primary school for 515 students who live in poverty. Providing them with the school they deserve will dramatically increase their chances of escaping the poverty cycle they and their families are trapped in.

£2k can completely transform a classroom and ensure each child has access to basic things any of us would expect such as a roof over their heads at school, desks to sit at, textbooks to learn from and even something as simple as windows.
