#TeamOrchid takes on the Hackney Half Marathon 2025 to fight male cancer.

Story

I am running Hackney half marathon in memory of my dad who sadly passed away very unexpectedly in August.

My dad battled with prostrate cancer on and off since the age of 50. It was a contributing factor to his recent death, and sadly it runs in our family.

Despite dads battle with cancer, he was always determined to live life to the full and loved long cycle rides and pushing his body to the maximum, even at the age of 69! He cycled London to Paris and London to Brighton a number of times.

I’m so proud to have been his daughter and I know he would love the idea of me doing my own race to raise money for a cause he was very passionate about.
