Story
This Ramadan, I am proud to have chosen IDRF as my charity partner to help families in need during this blessed month of Baraqah. I am excited to be raising funds to support IDRF's emergency relief efforts in Syria to support communities impacted by the devastating earthquakes.
As we all know, the holy month of Ramadan is a time of compassion, generosity, and community. It is a time when we come together to support those in need and provide assistance to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. That is why I have chosen to support IDRF's emergency relief efforts in Syria. The people of Syria are facing immense challenges due to the recent earthquakes that have devastated their communities. Many families have lost their homes and are struggling to access basic necessities such as food, water, and medical supplies.
The Situation
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake and deadly aftershocks rocked Syria causing the death of over 5,000 people and thousands injured as buildings toppled over residents in their sleep across the regions. one of the strongest to hit the region in more than 100 years.
Thousands impacted by the earthquake are displaced and without a home in the midst of the cold winter season, making it difficult for many to survive.
Right now, survivors of the deadly earthquake are in immediate need of shelter, food, medical aid and supplies to keep warm during the winter.
How is IDRF helping
In response to this tragedy, IDRF has launched its first phase of its emergency response program. Their localized approach will help survivors of the earthquake immediately and directly.
They will provide impacted families in Syria, with immediate relief from the cold weather with blankets, heaters, tents and jackets. Additionally, IDRF will support families with shelter, as well as, provide warm meals and emergency first aid to families affected by this crisis.
Let us come together this Ramadan and spread the spirit of generosity and kindness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
Thank you for your support and may Allah (SWT) bless us all.
