For nearly 40 years, Instant Neighbour has been a lifeline for low-income individuals across Aberdeen City and Shire, offering affordable, reused furniture, white goods, clothing, and bric-a-brac to help them set up home. We also provide essential services like Carpetinc and Joinerinc, ensuring everyone has access to professional services.

In times of crisis, our FoodBank provides emergency food parcels to those who need it most. Sadly our food bank is very much in demand, we supply emergency food parcels to those most in need. We are talking to approximately 150 people per week, many having to make a choice of eating or heating. We rely on donations to keep our food bank going .

Our annual Giving Tree appeal brings hope and joy to children and teenagers at Christmas— in 2024, we distributed an incredible 13,500 gifts to over 4,500 kids in the North East, who ordinarily wouldn’t receive anything.

Through volunteering, we also provide valuable opportunities to build employability skills including, office, retail and warehouse experience.

Our work is vital because it addresses both immediate and long-term needs, helping people not only survive but thrive. Access to affordable goods and services can make a world of difference for those on limited incomes. By providing essential items and opportunities for personal growth, we are breaking the cycle of poverty and creating pathways for people to build a better future. Our services offer dignity and hope to those facing financial hardship, while the Giving Tree ensures that even the most vulnerable children experience the joy of Christmas. We rely on community support to continue this life-changing work.

All the profits generated through our work go directly back into the charity, helping us continue to support those in need.
