Solving homelessness: Together. Caring in Bristol is your local homelessness charity. We’ve been supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness for over three decades. Our mission is to create a caring city empowered to solve homelessness.

Story

In loving memory of the musician Nick Talbot (Gravenhurst) and his kindness, compassion, and love for his home city of Bristol.

Nick's family and manager are inviting donations to Caring in Bristol's Christmas Appeal 2024. The donations made to this JustGiving fundraiser will support people experiencing homelessness and precarious living in Bristol to receive vital care, compassion and a fresh start this Christmas.

£500 could enable 20 people who would otherwise have nowhere else to go to attend Caring at Christmas, receiving nutritious, delicious food, support, healthcare, compassion and company.

The charity Caring in Bristol has been helping the city's homeless for more than 35 years. Their Caring at Christmas campaign supports hundreds of people every year. Its pop-up day centre is safe, warm, and welcoming to its guests.

Caring in Bristol says:

"Our Caring at Christmas project does just that, supporting hundreds of people experiencing homelessness and precarious living every year. Its pop-up day centre is safe, warm, and welcoming to its guests.

Launching on Christmas Eve, a week of nutritious food, festive activities, and essential support. All carefully designed for some of the most vulnerable and excluded people in our city.

We know that some people can’t get to our centre, so our volunteers deliver festive food parcels to those in temporary or precarious accommodation, often with no cooking facilities. It’s not right that some in our city are left out, and we want to deliver hope and connection - not just food.

The centrepiece of Christmas Day is Bristol’s Big Christmas Dinner. Like all meals during the week, it will be cooked by some of Bristol’s top chefs. It’s a symbol of care to our guests. Rough sleeping means cooking and hearty, healthy food are an impossibility. By making a place for them at the table, we let them know they matter, and are part of our city too."
