Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

George Wood was diagnosed with acute AM Leukemia in January 2023.

After several rounds of chemotherapy and a hard year-long battle, George died on February 12th 2024

In lieu of sending flowers, his family are asking to instead donate to Friends of Anchor, the Charity associated with the haematology ward at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy)

Their founding aim is to provide the best possible treatment, care and support to patients.

Uniquely, every penny of every pound donated to Friends of ANCHOR goes to the cause because their administration costs, including the salaries of the six fundraising team members, are fully covered by Aberdeen company Balmoral Group - as they have been since the charity was founded.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
