Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of my cousin, Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan of the Intelligence Corps., in an RAF Lynx helicopter crash in the Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Four others also died in the crash. To honor his memory, Rak’s Trust was setup to support the causes that Rakesh cared about.
The current project is collaborating with the Gurkha Welfare Trust to raise £45,000 to rebuild a school block in Nepal that was razed to the ground in the severe earthquake in 2015. This is part of a wider programme in concert with the Gurkha Welfare Trust to help rebuilt communities affected by devastating earthquakes in 2015. These communities include families of former British Gurkha service men.
Rak’s Trust hosts a large fundraising hike yearly to raise funds for concurrent charity projects. This year, most of the participants and I - will be attempting Snowdon but a few courageous individuals are doing the National 3 peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) all in 24 hours to help us raise funds for this humanitarian cause.
Every little helps! We thank you in advance for all your support.
