Story

There is a mural outside the Leeds Beckett student union which quotes the great Rob Burrow - “in a world full of adversity we must dare to dream”. So to honour the legacy he has left and to support the important work of Leeds Mind, I am running my first marathon.

Having struggled with my own mental health since a teenager, spending a lot of time feeling ashamed and confused due to the stigma that still surrounds mental illness, I can wholeheartedly say the support Leeds Mind offers and the work they do is invaluable.

I am also proud to be supporting a charity that raises awareness of suicide prevention and supports individuals affected by this, having lost both family and friends to suicide.

I am extremely grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small, and (mostly) looking forward to running a very long way for a very good cause!!
