Oxford Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·
I am running the Oxford Half Marathon for Petals, the baby loss counselling charity.
In August 2023 my beautiful niece Nuala Sarah Louise Williams was born sleeping. A devastating time for our family, but my sister Lucy, and her fiancé Tom (Nuala’s parents) made it their mission to create a legacy for Nuala through raising an incredible amount of money for different baby loss charities! It is now time for me to take on a challenge and raise some vital funds by running the Oxford half marathon in October 2024. This time last year I struggled to run just 1 mile. I have been training really hard for over 6 weeks now and am determined to get over that finish line for Nuala and all the other angel babies and their families! Be sure to follow my strava for training updates, and it keeps me accountable.
I have chosen to raise money for the charity petals as they have been amazing support for Lucy and Tom throughout this challenging period. They provide specialist counselling service for women, men and couples who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby.
It is a sad reality that in the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, 1 in 200 babies will be stillborn every year, over 5000 pregnancies will be terminated for medical reasons each year and 24 babies die shortly after birth every single week.
Petals delivers hundreds of counselling sessions every month. Each session cost Petals £80, I would like my sponsorship to fund as many sessions as possible, so many more parents can be supported. So every donation counts!
Nuala, beautiful angel girl, I am doing this for you. Auntie Mimmy misses you so much, and I know you will be there with me every step on the day, pushing me through every gruelling mile. I love you so much, this is all for you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Bring it on!🎉🏃♀️💪🏽
