Story
Once again this year, a team of IMO delegates and Secretariat staff will conduct a 100K cycle ride around Richmond Park, and remotely from other parts of the world, to support seafarer's welfare. The COVID-19 pandemic, the situation in Ukraine and other impacts on shipping have dramatically affected the lives of seafarers around the globe. Those impacts continue, especially for the hundreds of seafarers that have been abandoned in record numbers in ports around the globe. They need the support that charities such as the Mission to Seafarers can provide.
Riders include: Fred Kenney, Will Griffiths, Hassam Emara, George Demiatradies, Delphine Huddleston and Meine Bianco (IMO Secretariat), Essam Al Ammari (Saudi Arabia), Michelle Sanders and Gillian Grant (remotely) (Canada), Watchara Chiemanukulkit (Thailand), Hanqiang Tan (Singapore), Hermann Leon Rincon (Colombia - remotely), Khalid Albakri (Qatar), Damien Chevalier (France), Anays Berrocal (Panama), Allessandro Lo Piccolo, Geoffrey Guy, Frank McNulty, Graeme Morkel (Bahamas), Damien Chevallier (France), Ian Lancaster (New Zealand - remotely), Mohd Fairoz and Nazwan Hafeez (Malaysia), Guy Lawson (USA), Simon Moore (Australia), Sveinung Oftedal (Norway), Bruce Anderson (IAPH), George Charalampidis (WSC), Phil Belcher (Intertanko- remotely), Unni Einemo (IBIA) and Stewart Inglis (MSC), Sam Martin (MtS) and Fiona Forrester (NHS) .
This years ride will be conducted on June 24th, the day before the International Day of the Seafarer. A fitting way to show support on seafarer's special day. Please show your support, as well!
