Chasing The 6’s
As most people know, I love a challenge! So this will be the most challenging thing I have, and ever will try to complete in my life. I have always wanted to do something special for a very valuable part of the community and Saint Michaels Hospice helps so many people through the most difficult times of their lives.I love exercise and most sports, but I have never actually been that great at them, but as they say it’s the taking part that counts.
Coming from a rugby background and having a main interest in lifting very heavy things, the thought of endurance sports was never one that I really favoured due to my physique (large and slow).
So this is what I have decided to do
6 events with an addition 6000 miles to be completed in 12 months. The events and 6000 miles will consist of cycling, running and swimming over the year some will be on the indoor trainers, although many will be done outside in the rain, sun, hail and possibly snow. The challenges will consist of: 6 big organised events 6 not so big but by no means easy tasks
Some of these events are official organised events that I have self funded and some are self organised challenges that I will be planning on completing self-supported.
The biggest of the challenges is my attempt to complete Ironman Bolton in July 2023. Other events I have planned are a ultra event in the Lake District called ‘The Lap’ in September 2023‘The Roc Scotland’ in October 2023I’m going to be putting my mind and body through pretty much hell to try and complete these official events to try raise as much as I possibly can for much needed funds for Saint Michaels Hospice. This fundraiser will take place over 12 months with the goal of raising £3600. This equates to £600 per big event. However if I’m honest I would just like to raise as much as I possible can even if by December 2023 I don’t hit my target. Every penny counts for this amazing charity so please if you can spare a few quid every now and again for donations, both I and Saint Michaels would really appreciate this.
I will keep everyone up to date on my Instagram and do a weekly post. If you would like to follow my journey along please give me a follow on:@adair_chasing6s
Thanks
