That's a lot of steps in a day. Enough to cover 26.2 miles oddly enough...

I'm both thrilled and terrified to be one of the lucky few to be running the London Marathon 2025 for Shooting Star Children's Hospices (SSCH) (as well as the Hyde Park 10km and Surrey Half Marathon as warm ups in my training plan)!

Shooting Star Children's Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across Surrey and London.

Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, SSCH are there to make every moment count. Supporting families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Apart from Strava kudos, why?

Since becoming a dad, my perspective has changed on life. I'm forever grateful that Theo is a happy, healthy 6 year old, but it's not lost on me that other children and families are not as fortunate.

SSCH are real-life superheroes for children and their families that are experiencing things I cannot even fathom, and they rely on donations like yours, and those crazy enough to run the 26.2 miles to help raise those funds.

If you're here, you probably know I like to keep fit. Despite completing a heap of half marathons and cycling events, the London Marathon has been one of those beasts that has evaded me.. until now, and I'm determined to raise as much as I can for SSCH, and prove to myself that even in my 40's, that I can do this. For me, for Theo, and for SSCH.
