Story

Huntington's Disease is a genetic condition impacting the nervous system. It is an inherited disorder that causes nerve cells in parts of the brain to gradually break down and die. It is a largely unknown condition, that unfortunately my dad had and died from. It is mainly an inherited condition, with a 50/50 chance of it being passed on. My older brother is in the early stages of Huntington's disease and in November last year I received the results from my genetic test to say I have also inherited the disease!

Raising funds for the HDA is hugely important to our family. Their care and support for both sufferers of the condition and their carers is vital for people facing this slowly degenerative condition! All money raised from this challenge will go straight to them, so they can support all the other families in this country on the same journey as ours! They also work tirelessly to provide information and training on the condition to the NHS and social workers and support research into the condition. It is hoped, one day, they will find a cure!

Along the way, I want to raise as much awareness of the condition as possible!

If you feel you can sponsor me on behalf of this incredible charity, any amount would be gratefully received!
