Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Ian and this is my fundraiser for the MS Trust. My aim is to visit the four corners of the UK driving solo, including Lands End and John O Groats in just six days in my MGF sports car, which has had a hard life but is my joy. Hopefully roof down all the way. The four corners of Britain are, Ardnamurchan Point on the west coast of Scotland, Dunnet Head on the north coast of Scotland, Lowestoft Ness in Suffolk, and Lizard Point in Cornwall,. Not only is this a challenge to raise money for the MS Trust, its also a personal challenge for myself as a long term sufferer from Rheumatoid Arthritis which causes swelling and pain to my joints. As my condition is getting progressively worse, this will probably be my last chance at an event like this. I would like to assure everyone this trip is totally self funded and every penny of your donation will go directly to the MS Trust.

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord, and its estimated that around 130,000 people in the UK are affected with another 130 people a week newly diagnosed. It is an incurable life long condition but is, fortunately, not a terminal disease. It affects everyone in a different way but it can cruelly rob sufferers of their mobility and dexterity and compromises their finer motor functions. It also causes symptoms like memory loss and extreme fatigue, hypersensitivity and pain to the whole body.

My partner has secondary progressive MS and her daughter has relapse remitting MS. These are two of the more common types of MS, and having seen how they have struggled with this condition for many years I have decided to raise funds for the MS Trust who heavily invest into treatments and the ultimate search for a cure.

If you have read this far, thank you. Any amount you may wish to donate will go directly to the MS Trust, and don't forget to Gift Aid it if applicable, every penny counts.

The adventure starts on June 24th and I will be posting updates on my Facebook page and on here.

Thank You,
