ST RICHARD'S HOSPICE TREK TO PETRA · 16 March 2024 to 23 March 2024 ·

We provide hospice care in Worcestershire to give people the best quality of life

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those that don’t know me, I’m Ian, married to Fiona. We are both doctors. I’m a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Worcester Royal Hospital and Fiona is a GP.

In March 2024 we will be trekking in Jordan as part of a group raising money for St Richard’s Hospice.

Having worked in Worcestershire since 2005 I have seen first hand the help that they offer to patients and families in Worcestershire at an incredibly difficult time, when having treatment for cancer, or other progressive illnesses, or when end of life care is needed. But, they rely on charitable donations to do this essential work as less than 25% of their funding comes from the NHS. So they need people to promote the charity.

Fiona saw this trek pop up on her Facebook feed, and signed us up! It is an opportunity to get fitter, visit somewhere beautiful, meet new people and most importantly raise funds an awareness for St Richard’s.

And so here we are. We are paying for our own trip, so every penny donated will go to St Richard’s, but we really do hope you will consider supporting us. Thank you
