I have always wanted to do something massive like this. It's going to be EPIC - 8 days, 1,100km and 19000 metres of climbing over the Pyrenees.

It's going to be tough, but not as tough as suffering with blood cancer. That is why we are trying to raise money to support Professor Guido Franzoso's Research at ICL.

The FireFlies motto is FOR THOSE WHO SUFFER, WE RIDE. We are not told the next days route until the morning of each ride, this is in solidarity with those suffering with blood cancer who do not know what the next day will bring.

For me it is also a personal journey for my mental health. Like many others I work remotely and more often than not alone. It's easy for me to become distracted, to over think, to worry, to procrastinate. Since Jan 1st the training has given me a focus, it's really helped me on a day to day basis. It's a constant and something non negotiable, it has massively helped me this year.

I know right now with the cost of living so high that fund raising is going to be harder than usual. Anything you can donate is massively appreciated and will make a difference.
