Story
Back in June last year, my 6 year old daughter Isla collapsed at school and was rushed to hospital and shortly transferred to Newcastle RVI, needing emergency brain surgery due to a bleed on the brain and a tumour. She spent a month in intensive care and a neuro protective coma to give her the best possible chance to wake up! We Diddnt know what was going to happen or what to expect but to everyone’s amazement she woke up fairly the same little girl she was. She has nerve damage down her right side and has a wheelchair and wears a splint to help with her walking. We spent 4 month living in the RVI while she was under intense physio and occupational therapy! Shes now home and back to school but still has a huge road of recovery ahead, for the next 10 year she has regular MRI scans and checkups with her specialist and consultants and attends physio weekly.
Myself and a few close friends and family have organised to do the national 3 peaks challenge in aid of raising as much as possible for the brain tumour charity in order to help with a cure and treatments for something that affected our family and many others in the same position.
