Story

Hi,

I signed up to do this quite a long time ago, and then got a groin injury!! Throughout August I didn't run at all and it didn't really improve. I was fairly sure I'd have to drop out - but thanks to the incredible support and help from the team at Thrive Clinic Buckingham - https://thriveforhealth.co.uk/ - I am confident I will at least get through it now, but my prep is far from ideal - I only got back up to a 5k distance in mid September...

If you know me , you know I'm a shorter distance runner (5K every day in 2024), and that I would have trained hard for this. My only previous half Marathon was in 2019, I did it 1hr48 and wanted to beat it this time.

Well, maybe next year. This is year is now simply about completing it and is a bigger challenge as a result - and, of course, whilst doing my bit to help Macmillan.

Macmillan is one of the most important charities in the UK. The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.

That's why Macmillan will do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving, once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
