So... Look who's adding THE LONDON MARATHON to the adventure!! I will be jumping into same face's (Sam's) shoes while he is now fighting his own battle, going through treatment for his brain tumour, aka 'Chunky'
Honestly I can't think of a stronger lad - his mindset is unreal and I know for sure that if it wasn't for them medical professionals saying it was far from advised to run/ walk a marathon after having ya head scooped (surprisingly) he would be doing it. But just goes to show our Sam's commitment even asking!!
We were planning on using our twinness to our advantage and split it half and half but apparently that's already been done and it's far from foolproof 😂 🏃♂️🏃♂️
I know how much Sam wanted to run this for the amazing people of @ashgate_hospice , and also for the one in a million that is our Papa Trav. But I am incredibly proud to be taking his place and hope to do them both proud!
This will be the most special way to round off this tribute to my amazing dad and I honestly couldn't be more proud as I know he will be watching on saying ' I don't see any movement'
So far I have taking part in a cycle across the Pyrenees, around a 500 mile ride up and down the mountains between France and Spain from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and ran a 48 minute PB at the Amsterdam Marathon (15th October 3hr 50!!) all part of the 'I don't see any movement' tour in the memory of our amazing Dad who we lost earlier this year.
These three challenges will be to raise money for the incredible team at Ashgate Hospice who kept our champ fighting till the very end, with a smile on his face and bringing joy to us all. Words can't describe how thankful we are as a family and all the lasting memories we were able to make thanks to their tireless care and kindness
He always loved a good cycling anecdote, reminiscing about the rides through all elements and overcoming so many challenges together which we were unbelievably lucky to share together 💪 so what better way to remember him than taking his bike for one more tour, days of saddle sore, mountain climbing and horrendous cyclist tanlines eh!?... It's what he would have wanted, right?!
As usual I am under trained (trained used loosely) but as he always said.... it's just extra miles, we train as we go! Be a shame to break tradition really 👀
Every pedal and every step will be for you papa, love and miss you forever and always ❤️❤️
Thank you for giving if you can, spread the word and keep smiling 😁
