Story
My Dad looked after trainee guide dogs and was a strong supporter of the charity. When he sadly and suddenly passed away last year, I wanted to do something that will help fill the hole he left for the charity so came up with this challenge.
The walk alone is about 55k and the estimated time it will take is around 16-18 hours. We will start at first light and will hopefully complete it before the sun goes down!
All equipment will be carried or pushed (no electric trolleys or buggies), all holes must be completed. The course will be St Mellons Golf Club, playing off the yellow tees (6078 yards).
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
