Story
It is with deepest sorrow that we share the passing of our much-loved Barry Owen-Smith, London Area Sales Manager at Hypnos Contract Beds, on Sunday 26th November 2023. His strength, resilience, and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Barry's journey was one of incredible bravery, battling against Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), diagnosed in January 2022, following COVID in November 2021. His story is one of determination and selflessness.
Before his diagnosis, his biking events raised valuable funds for Hospitality Action. Barry’s determination to do good did not waver following his diagnoses, as he embarked on a remarkable journey, walking 1,000km and cycling 5,000km while relying on oxygen, to raise nearly £4000 for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Barry's commitment to making a positive impact extended far beyond his own challenges, as his legacy is not only measured in miles walked or funds raised but in the immeasurable kindness he bestowed upon others. His generosity and genuine concern for those around him will resonate for years to come.
May his legacy continue to inspire acts of kindness and resilience in us all.
