Story

I hate running. I really hate running. Nature gave me long arms with which to reach things, rather than good stamina and speed with which to run after them. It is, therefore, with an extremely heavy heart that I find myself donning the lycra and getting into training for a very good cause.

The Wrexham Miners Project(WMP) is a fantastic charity that seeks to preserve Wrexham's mining past and act as a community hub for Wrexham's future. We at Wrexham AFC are delighted to name WMP as our official charitable partner for the 24/25 season.

Due to the extremely unfortunate generosity of my bosses, Wrexham AFC Chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, who have each pledged £26,200 to the cause, I have no choice but to run the Manchester Marathon on April 27th 2025 to raise funds for WMP.

So, now, I am, not very humbly, and slightly aggressively, beseeching you to donate to this great cause to make the misery I am going to put myself through worthwhile.
