We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

I was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2019, and in August 2020 completed a sponsored tandem skydive to fund research into the world’s fastest growing neurological condition. Despite Covid lockdowns and distancing restrictions I raised in excess of £2,300

The skydive was exciting and great to do, but I need my next fundraiser to challenge me physically, and mentally. Since diagnosis I have found that exercise is my best medication, and my symptoms are fairly steady but every day is different, so three consecutive days hill walking are definetly going to be a challenge for me.An ex colleague, Bob and 3 friends have joined me in this challenge and will be a great support. The 5 of us, Team BDJHK (our initials) have together arranged transport and accommodation to start with Ben Nevis on Friday 17th May. We will then travel to complete Scafell Pike on Saturday and Snowden on Sunday.

Wharfe Valley Active are supporting this challenge supplying with team clothing many thanks to them for their support.

All monies raised will go towards Parkinson UK Leeds branch .

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
