Story
What is the challenge?
On the first weekend of August, a group of us will be walking coast to coast, from Wallsend to Solway Firth along Hadrian's Wall. The route itself is just shy of 90 miles, underlining the scale of the challenge. The 'Coast to Coast' walk for New Hope follows on from other significant fundraisers for the charity including: ' The Overnight Channel Swim' and 'The Three Peaks Challenge'.
Who are we raising money for?
This challenge will raise money for the New Hope Children's Centre, which is a facility dedicated to rescuing and raising orphaned children and abandoned babies in Uplands, Kenya (located around 20-25 miles outside of Nairobi).
Previous fundraisers for New Hope and the surrounding community have looked to build vital infrastructure such as, classrooms, libraries and houses. This year, we are raising money to pay for further essentials including: food, formula milk for babies, blankets, plates, cups and cooking pots. These resources are of even greater necessity to the community, given the global cost of living crisis.
Fundraising Target
I have selected an ambitious fundraising target of £1000 for the challenge. Any donations are deeply appreciated and will make a huge difference to the lives of individuals within the community.
Let's smash the target! Thank you!
