***STOP PRESS - we did it! With the narrowest of windows we summited Mont Blanc at 9am on 19th Sept just as the winds died and the clouds parted - and away we flew!***
Parkinson's will affect 1 in 37 of us. And there's no cure.
My father was diagnosed when I was eight and suffered with it for more than 20 years. It's not supposed to be hereditary (though your chances double) but it seems lightening has rather inconveniently struck twice and I was diagnosed in 2022 - so this is for future generations.
In 2004 I attempted to climb Mont Blanc and fly a paraglider from the summit but was forced to turn back two hours from the summit. I'm having another go, accompanied by my son Ed, in September and aiming to raise funds for Cure Parkinson's in the process.
I'd love your support to reach my target of £30,065 - the combined height in feet of Mont Blanc, Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, Snowdon and Ben Nevis. We've cracked England - MB next - then Wales and Scotland.
