Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April, my friends and I will be cycling approximately 400 miles over 4 days from Houghton, a small village in Cambridgeshire, to Paris for a cause that is very close to our hearts.
In September 2021, my mum noticed a tremor in her left hand which unbeknown to us would later be diagnosed as Parkinson’s disease following a number of consult appointments, an MRI and DAT scan. Since the start, my mum has proactively faced the future and remained determined on what she can do here and now, and in support, we are fundraising as much as possible for Parkinson’s UK, a charity that has supported her from the beginning.
Parkinson’s is a degenerative and currently incurable disease. Anybody at any age can be affected and the cause is still unknown. Parkinson’s UK provides people with information and support which enables them to feel in control of life with Parkinson’s. They fund ground breaking research to find new and better treatments, which is why the 7 of us are determined to raise awareness and fundraise for this cause.
I want to extend a huge thank you to my friends, for the amount of support and commitment you have shown throughout. The time and effort they are putting into to this bike ride means everything to me and hopefully our efforts contribute to support many families in similar situations around the UK.
And, a special shout out to Greig Sarath and Neil Greatorex who will be driving and manning the support van through the ride. The challenge wouldn’t be possible without them.
Training is well underway, stay tuned for updates!
