Story
Step by Step, Stone by Stone...
Thank you for checking out my sponsorship page! On October 10th, I will set out to walk the full 72 miles of Hadrian’s Wall—barefoot! For 5 or 6 days, I’ll be camping in my tent each night and trekking by day in my authentic replica Roman helmet.
Through varied weather, I will be filming the journey on my GoPro to create a short documentary for our company's social media—bringing every mile of this adventure to life.
I’m doing this to try and raise £400 towards the YHA’s children’s charity. If you donate to this cause, you will be directly funding educational trips for disadvantaged young children. One hundred percent of the donation goes towards the charity.
A fully edited video of the journey will be posted on @yhawhitby's instagram in the days after the hike. Updates will be available along the way on our uploaded stories.
PS: One of our sister sites, YHA The Sill, is located roughly half way along the route. I will be reliant on their shower facilites around day #3 to freshen up. Even the Roman's had their baths...
Disclaimer: I will reach out to landowners in the week before the hike to pre-arrange my camping spots. I am aware that wild camping is not technically legal.
Disclaimer #2: I will be sticking to the official path, not on the wall itself where I could risk damaging the stones.
Per aspera ad astra: through hardships to the stars.
