Update... For those not on Facebook I wanted to share that we did meet the 16,000 goal between this site and the Cuddles for Vhristmas direct fundraising site. We were thrilled when the bed arrived in April. Please see the updates below with pictures!

DRUMROLL PLEASE… $14,365.16 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are overwhelmed with the generosity of so many people from all over the world that donated ! Hospice Halifax will always have a special place in our hearts. It means the world to us to give back to a place that gave us so much. Avery & I will be donating the remaining amount and are thrilled that Hospice Halifax will be able to order this state of the art bed in Robs memory. We will be sure to post an update when the bed arrives !

Our family is so grateful for the comfort and support of Hospice Halifax. The caring and compassionate staff were not only there for Rob in his final weeks but for Avery and I as well. Being able to just focus on time together again was the most incredible gift to us.

Hospice Halifax will be working towards switching all 10 beds from standard sized hospital beds to state of the art “cuddle beds”. This will allow for residents to have the important space for.. a spouse to snuggle up beside them, a beloved pet visiting to enjoy a nap with them, or a child to hop up to read a story or watch a movie with their loved one just like home.

While Rob was a resident we donated his own cuddle width hospital bed from home for his room. This meant so much to us while his was there. Although the donation of his cuddle style bed will allow another resident to have this benefit right away our wish is to give “ Cuddles for Christmas “ to residents of Hospice Halifax by raising money towards the new beds they wish to upgrade to Robs memory. https://youtu.be/lead7vYji8k
