Event: Wye Valley Mighty Hike 2024 - full marathon, on 7 September 2024
In September 2024, we're hiking a half or full marathon along the beautiful Wye Valley to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

Anne Friswell was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2023, her cancer later spread to her bones in her back and shoulder, which radiotherapy seemed to tackle and during the summer of 2023, she began to feel slightly better and was able to enjoy a family holiday to Scotland. As time progressed, November brought more sad news, her cancer had spread further to the bones in the head and her lungs. This news was devastating. Unfortunately, treatment was no longer an option and mum was given days to weeks to live. On the 6th January 2024, mum passed away after a brave battle with cancer. She fought until the end and passed peacefully at home with her family.

In September 2024, the Hoppys and Frisys will be walking The Mighty Hikes marathon in The Wye Valley in memory of mum/Anne. The donations received will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support and help people living with cancer.
