Story

On the 8th September Im going to be completing the Great North Run half marathon in memory of my amazing Nannar Dawn, who was so full of life until she had a Haemorrhagic stroke in July 2023 and then Encephalitis. She sadly passed away in February 2024.

For this reason I'm going to be raising money for Headway the brain injury association, who are a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services.

Every year around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. That's one every 90s! Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were. Which is difficult for the individual as well as their friends and family.
