Story
This year, Claranet is challenging the staff to complete a full marathon of 26.2 miles right in our own local towns as part of the London Marathon MyWay 2024 event, taking place on April 21st (Same day as the London Marathon).
Reflecting on where I was just a year ago, attempting my first ever 10k, I am amazed at how far I've come. Now, I am challenging myself to take on this incredible feat - my very first marathon!
For me personally, it's a remarkable running journey that started with the Couch to 5k program at the end of 2022. My goal is not about achieving a specific time; it's about crossing that finish line, no matter how long it takes even if it means pushing through for 6 or more hours!
Running a marathon in your local town presents unique challenges. Unlike an actual race, no volunteers or crowds cheer you on and provide that extra boost of motivation. But I am determined to give it my all and make every step count.
What keeps me going is the inspiration I draw from my amazing Dad, who has faced so much adversity. Macmillan Cancer Support has offered invaluable support and care for him. On the marathon day, knowing that Macmillan is doing everything it can for cancer patients will fuel my determination.
Macmillan Cancer Support goes above and beyond to ensure cancer patients have everything they need. They take on their worries as if they were their own and do whatever it takes to provide support. However, they can't do it alone. They rely on generous contributions from individuals like you to continue their vital work.
Join me in making a difference by supporting Macmillan Cancer Support today! Together, we can help ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
