Story
As many of you will already know, I lost my dad (Andy) to cancer when I was just 18. Subsequently, my brother has had cancer, twice. Fortunately, thankfully, he is still here to tell the tale (s). So, as you can see, cancer has, and will always have, a very big part of my families lives.
In light of this, I have decided to do HYROX in London Olympia, on the 6th May 2024 for a charity space; and what better charity than MacMillan Cancer Support.
HYROX combines both running and functional workout stations, where I’ll be running 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.
Bottom line. It is extremely hard.
It is a gruelling and rigorous test of overall fitness – requiring strength, speed, endurance and power.
But, I love a challenge. So the fact that it’s hard is the attraction of it. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Donations make up 98% of MacMillan’s annual income, so without people like me doing crazy things like this, they can’t do what they do.
Every little helps. So please dig deep; or just spare some small change. Give me some words of encouragement, come and support me; or laugh at this madness from afar. Whatever you can do, I appreciate you. And so does MacMillan.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
