Story
Earlier this year, a family member was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma - a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. Charlotte's only 34 with a daughter of 4 and she’s determined to use whatever time she has left to both enjoy herself & to raise awareness and money for the cause. You can read Charlotte’s full story here.
On Saturday 14th September, I will be attempting to ‘Everest’ Skiddaw in the Lake District, to raise money for the Oracle Cancer Trust (improving head & neck cancer outcomes).
The Challenge:
‘Everesting’ involves climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest from sea level (8,848m) in some capacity, whether that’s finding a hill or taking to the stairs. I’ll be running* Skiddaw (*read as hiking up, jogging down) 10.5 times to meet this challenge, covering a distance of approximately 75km. If you’re in the area on Saturday 14th, and you fancy doing a climb or two with me - please come along, I’d love the company! The plan is to use the Carl Side path, starting from a small layby in Millbeck (///pairings.friends.droplet / 54.625579, -3.155178). The plan is yet to be finalised, but I will likely be starting very early Saturday morning and aim to complete the challenge in under 24 hours.
And most importantly, if you’re able to donate at all, it would mean a lot if you could please do so.
