2025 will be the 26th. Hog Charge and will be held on the weekend of 25th / 26th January 2025.
The Hog Charge is mainly an event for school children over 10 years old but is also open to Teachers, parents and anyone that likes to ride a bike.
The aims of the Hog Charge are to:
1.) Teach children to act as a Team,
2.) Learn all about the Conservation charity they are raising the money for so that they can explain the cause to their sponsors.
3.) To challenge themselves to complete the event.
The Hog Charge has raised over 80 million Kenya Shillings for Rhino Ark over the years.
Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu . This provides an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo but also safeguards vital upland water table habitats for Kenya.
These fences help Humans and Wildlife live in harmony.
The HOG CHARGE event is sponsored by BROOKSIDE DAIRIES, PEPONI SCHOOL, NORTHLANDS and EAST AFRICAN CHAINS.
