Story
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
We are a small group who meets weekly on Mondays in Christchurch, Uxbridge and Fridays at Eastcote Community Centre. We have been running for many years but are at risk of closing after staff had to step down. We are now volunteer-led. We often organise fun and informative events for our members, including Speech and Language sessions, board game days, art activities, guest speakers, light exercise sessions and outing trips to museums, cafés and galleries.
We also aim to meet the needs of our members on a personal level - sharing stories and emotional support, helping one another with documents, providing refreshments at each meeting and searching for appropriate activities that are disability-friendly.
We need your support to continue to meet the needs of our members, as well as their families who may use our services for respite.
